Switzerland’s Producer Price Index (PPI) showed a smaller decline in July 2026, suggesting a modest easing in deflationary pressures at the factory gate. On a month-over-month basis, PPI registered a 0.1% decrease, compared with a 0.3% decline in June 2026, according to data updated on 13 August 2026.

The improvement from -0.3% to -0.1% indicates that while producer prices are still falling, the pace of the decline is slowing. This could point to a tentative stabilization in input and wholesale prices across the Swiss economy. Market participants typically monitor month-over-month PPI movements as an early signal of potential shifts in consumer inflation, since producer prices feed through to retail prices with a lag.

Under the comparison framework used, the “actual” figure reflects the change in July relative to June, while the “previous” figure captures June’s change versus May. The reduced month-on-month drop in July may be interpreted by analysts as a sign that downward price pressures along the supply chain are beginning to moderate, even as outright price growth at the producer level remains elusive.
